When everyone is aligned and communication is clear, then getting to the destination is always certain. Thus, it has always been part of our monthly Innovuze Management Committee (ManCom) meetings to keep every team on-page on everything that is and should be with the organization. These gatherings are more than just discussions, but have become the heartbeat of our organization, ensuring everything operates harmoniously as possible.

On April 9, 2026, the Innovuze ManCom, composed of our team leaders, managers and officers, stepped away from their workstations and the usual conference meetings into a day of strategic upskilling and enthusiastic collaboration. Held at the Seven Seas Waterpark & Resort in Opol, Misamis Oriental, they had a leadership workshop that was designed to sharpen their capability in terms of decision making and dealing with their team and various stakeholders. The objective was simple yet valuable: to refine leadership styles, build deeper trust, and ensure our key team members are equipped to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the IT industry.

Breaking the Ice: Testing Our "Pinoy Endurance"

To warm up the participants prior to the actual workshop, the day kicked off at the office with an energy-packed icebreaker led by Ms. Revemar. Titled "Pinoy Endurance," the game was as much a physical challenge as it was a mental one. While one team member guessed words on a projected screen, the rest of the group provided clues—all while doing squats!

It was a lighthearted way to remind us of a truth in the IT world, or in any field for that matter: success requires physical and mental stamina and wellness, especially when working against a ticking clock.

Leadership in Action: Strengthening Our Core

Five different groups are having discussions about their strategy for ranking the survival items.

Following the morning’s excitement, Sir Franklin facilitated an intensive leadership workshop. In the fast-paced world of web development and information technology, alignment is everything. Our goals for the session were clear:

  • Strengthen Collaboration across departments.

  • Align Leadership Values to ensure a unified vision.

  • Improve Decision-Making under pressure.

  • Build Trust as a foundational element of our culture.

Each group presented their final rankings for the Survival Scenario activity

The team was divided into five groups to tackle two distinct challenges:

  1. The Survival Scenario: We were tasked with ranking essential items for survival. This exercise highlighted how diverse perspectives—when managed well—lead to better outcomes. It was fascinating to see how different team members influenced the final ranking and how we negotiated to reach a consensus.

  2. The Leadership Dilemmas: We shifted from hypothetical survival to real-world business and workplace scenarios. Each group was challenged to make high-stakes decisions based on complex variables.

We decided to shift our venue mid-session! We had a short break and transitioned from the office to the vibrant atmosphere of Seven Seas Waterpark and Resort.

After settling in, we took a well-deserved lunch break featuring a classic Filipino favorite—Lechon. The break also served as a special moment for the team to celebrate the birthday of our Operations Manager, Sir Franklin, adding a touch of family warmth to our professional gathering.

Conclusion and Reflection

Each group presented their thoughts on the Leadership Dilemmas activity

Post-lunch, we resumed our business and workplace scenario discussions. Each group presented their final decisions, candidly discussing the "pros" and "cons" and the thought processes that led them to their decisions if faced with real-life dilemmas when dealing with work, colleagues, clients, and company interests.

Work Hard, Play Hard

To wrap up the day, the team enjoyed some "free time" to explore the park. Whether it was relaxing in the river pool or exploring the attractions, it was the perfect way to recharge, making the team ready for new challenges that await ahead in the workplace and in each of their professional journey.
