Innovuze joins MSU-IIT’s Stakeholder’s Forum for Computing Education
Apr 21, 2026

The College of Computer Studies (CCS) of Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) held its Stakeholders' Forum on Computing Education on April 20, 2026 at the CED Amphitheater. The event convened industry partners, government agency representatives, alumni leaders, and academic collaborators.
Innovuze Solutions, Inc., an IT and Web Development company in Cagayan de Oro, is honored to have been invited to the forum.
The Dean of Computer Studies, Atty. Eddie Bouy B. Palad opened the forum saying this forum is the college’s annual “reality check”. He laid out two overarching goals of the forum: bridging the gap between academia and industry, and conducting a critical review of the existing curriculum and course code structure.
After the opening program, this writer joined breakout sessions facilitated by CSS faculty. The sessions were more focused on curriculum gaps, skill requirements and graduate expectations. This writer was impressed by the current objectives of the CSS curriculum and pointed out the lack of support tools and soft skills. Support tools like Git and Docker and soft skills like public speaking or business letter writing. The discussions were consolidated and were presented before the assembly before the closing session.
The forum concluded with the college inviting stakeholders to join its Advisory Council, institutionalizing industry involvement in curriculum development beyond the annual forum.
