Panagtigum 2026 event at the City Tourism Hall

On May 11, 2026, the City Tourism Hall of Cagayan de Oro served as the epicenter for a major macroeconomic movement. Representatives from Innovuze Solutions, Inc. had the privilege of participating in the landmark ‘Panagtigum 2026: Mapping the Creative Ecosystem’ Summit. The event marked the commencement of a month-long strategic initiative designed to architect a sustainable and interconnected creative economy across Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental.

The venue itself reflected this unique intersection of business and artistry. The Tourism Hall was filled to capacity with industry leaders and professional stakeholders representing nine distinct creative domains—spanning digital media, software design, publishing, and the performing arts. Remnants of vibrant paintings from an earlier session adorned the tables, establishing a distinctly creative yet highly productive corporate atmosphere.

Aligning Local Innovation with National Frameworks

The summit underscored a powerful public-private partnership, seamlessly orchestrated by the KaMi Creatives Council in tandem with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Oriental, the Oro Trade and Investment Promotion Center (Oro-TIPC), and the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (CTCAO).

A key takeaway for our team was the deliberate alignment of local creative initiatives with national policy. Keynotes delivered by DTI Acting Provincial Director and KaMi Creative Chair, Jesusa M. Abear, alongside DTI Regional Focal Coordinator Fidel Roa, detailed how these local efforts integrate into the Philippine Creative Industries Act (PCIDA) and the Philippine Creative Industries Development Plan (PCIDP) 2025-2034. Furthermore, KaMi Creative Co-Chair Christopher L. Gomez shared the historical trajectory of the council, while Oro-TIPC’s Millen Mae B. Saliga outlined upcoming regional creative projects. This administrative momentum was further validated by the official legislative backing of City Councilors George Christopher Goking and Maximo ‘Jonjon’ Rodriguez III.

A Corporate Call to Action: Interconnectivity and Growth

As an organization rooted in technology and creative solutions, Innovuze recognizes that breaking down corporate silos is paramount to regional competitiveness. The summit’s ultimate objective—to establish a unified economic ecosystem—was punctuated during the closing address by John W. Asuncion, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer.

Reflecting on the evolution of the sector, Asuncion delivered a strong call to action for all stakeholders present:

"So much to learn. So much to develop in this industry. I recall the early efforts to map and support the creative domains of Misamis Oriental. First is to understand the landscape and the people who shape it. We see people who are eager to develop. Economic driver is the creative industry. I encourage everyone to stay engaged and to start for stronger collaborations."

Driving Tomorrow’s Creative Ecosystem

Panagtigum 2026 solidified the fact that the creative industry is no longer just a cultural asset, but a primary economic driver. Moving forward, Innovuze Solutions, Inc. remains firmly committed to staying engaged in these monthly deliberations, fostering high-value cross-sector collaborations, and leveraging our technological expertise to help drive the region's creative and economic growth.
