Last September 5, 2025, Innovuze Solutions, Inc., successfully took part in supporting the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 10’s Smart Village Initiative (SVI) by responding to their call for donations of functional ICT equipment.

The Smart Village Initiative, adopted by DICT in line with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), aims to empower underserved and unserved communities by providing internet access, digital training, and e-government services. In Region 10, Smart Villages have been established in Camp Bilal (Lanao del Norte), Dalingap (Misamis Occidental), and Capihan (Bukidnon), serving as models of inclusive digital transformation in rural areas.

Earlier this year, DICT conducted inclusive ICT skills training to help participants move closer to ICT-related job opportunities. Equipped with digital skills in productivity tools, AI, and social media marketing, these trainees are now better prepared for today’s tech-driven workforce. However, sustaining these skills requires accessible and functional ICT equipment, particularly laptops and desktops, which prompted DICT’s appeal for support.

In response, Innovuze collaborated with its employees to gather usable ICT equipment, including laptops, desktops, and peripherals, that could still be used effectively in the Smart Villages. This collective effort reflects Innovuze’s commitment to digital inclusion, community empowerment, and corporate social responsibility.

By joining this initiative, Innovuze not only helps provide access to essential digital tools but also strengthens its advocacy for technology that empowers communities. The donated equipment will go a long way in supporting DICT’s training beneficiaries, enabling them to explore freelancing opportunities, remote work, and other ICT-driven livelihoods.

Innovuze extends its gratitude to DICT Region 10, most especially to Regional Director Sittie Rahma V. Alawi, to Engr. Kenneth Asuncion, and all their helpful staff, for their leadership and support in making this initiative possible.
